PAKHAWAJ

Pakhawaj is percussion instrument which is two headed drum made up of wood mostly prevalent in North India.  When it is played it is kept horizontal and the player has to be seated cross-legged. It is the prominent instrument in all drupad style performances. It is played in temples or spiritual concerts while singing devotional songs. The sound of Pakhawaj is soft and very pleasing to hear.
