Gretsch was established in 1883, by Friedrich Gretsch at the age of 27. He founded his shop in Brooklyn, New York, and started to make drums, banjos, and tambourines. Concentrated on perfect hand-craftsmanship and dedication to quality over a famous 135 years and counting, Gretsch has discovered new manufacturing techniques and designs, winning advertisements from some of the music industry’s most esteemed artists, including Chet Atkins, Bono, Duane Eddy, Brian Setzer, Stephen Stills, Eddie Cochran, Billy Duffy, George Harrison, and Malcolm Young.
