But now, Gibson P90’s legendary combination of high output and brilliant tone is further considered a favorite among many top musicians. Well known by such familiar nicknames as the Soapbar and the Cobalt, the P90 yet cuts through any type of music, all while presenting amazing tonal sensitivity for everything from blues and rock to mellow jazz riffs. Gibson P-90 Single Coil is a perfect vintage replacement and features vintage, braided two-conductor wiring. The most excellent thing about the Gibson P-90 pickup is that once you roll off the highs, you can still get the smoky tones we usually associate with humbuckers. Gibson P-90s come in two styles: Soapbar and Dog Ear. This one is a Soapbar in creme. Additional, fully wax potted to exclude any possibility of unwanted microphonic feedback.
