Gibson IM57R-ZB 57 Classic Zebra Humbucker Guitar Pickup is an approaching perfect re-creation of a late 1950s humbucker, giving a warm, even tone with full, even response.  The beginning few years of their production, Gibson’s legendary Patent Applied For humbuckers were covered using imprecise machines, resulting in pickups beside somewhat different output and tone. And they were and still today as highly desirable to players who need to mix and match and explore an entire spectrum of tonal opportunities.

The Gibson IM57R-ZB ’57 Classic vintage style humbucker is the result of Gibson’s drive to recreate and capture this notable characteristic. Begun in 1990, the ’57 Classic gives a warm, resonant tone with a fair response, packing that classic Gibson PAF humbucker crunch. All are built to the same specs as the original PAFs, including Alnico II magnets, nickel-plated pole pieces, nickel slugs, maple spacers, and vintage-style, two-conductor braided wiring. These pickups are further wax potted to eliminate all internal air space and any possibility of microphonic feedback.
