DW DRPL0912STCS Performance Series 9 x 12 inch Cherry Stain Lacquer Mounted Tom is perfectly designed for the drummer who is looking for a self-accompanying solo performer or record-ready kick drum sound. It comes with HVX maple shell is handmade in the same California plant, by the skillful craftsmen, as DW's unique Collectors Series. And it’s hardware also offers kind of the same performance and tuning advantages.

Equipped with reduced Quarter Turret lugs, a range of specialty wrap, lacquer, and satin finishes provide the Performance Series bass drum a soul and heart all its own. The Performance Series starts with US-made, handcrafted HVX hard rock North American Maple Shells. This HVX grain orientation provides a wood layer vertically, horizontally, and diagonally for a satisfying and deep fundamental. Shell is roasted in pressure molds (2600 PSI at 200°F) then quickly Cool Tempered to crystallize the glue, enhancing roundness, strength, a resonance. John Good's 40° frame edges promise comfortable playability, whatever your style.

It also features a DW's reduced-size Quater Turret Lugs. Providing a vigorously sleeker, more contemporary appearance that many DW musicians prefer. A special appearance shows much of the same hardware found throughout the DW Collector Series, washerless STM Suspension Tom Mounts float toms perfectly without chocking tone, precise threaded true-pitch tension rod enhances tuning accuracy, and Graduated Counter Hoops, weighted per shell size, unlock a dynamic balance of sustain and attack.
